Staff, associates and family members at the Red Sox game

On May 10, 2016, residents from Life Care Center of Attleboro, Massachusetts, celebrated National Nursing Home Week by attending a Red Sox game at Fenway Park.

“During National Nursing Home Week residents, staff and family members had a wonderful time at Fenway Park watching the Red Sox vs. Athletics,” said Ronnie Brown, activity director. “The game was won by the Sox 13-5 making Gladys a very happy fan.”

The associates, staff and family members had a wonderful time watching the Red Sox vs. the Oakland Athletics. Not only did they enjoy the game, but since they were among the first 100 to arrive at Fenway Park, they all received bobblehead dolls of Red Sox pitcher David Price.

“I loved it!” said resident Gladys Polednik, who has been a Red Sox fan since she was 10 years old. “I’m so glad I went and it was a grand time! The weather was perfect, and the Red Sox hit 16 home runs.”

Polednik attended the game with her granddaughter, Tammy. The best parts of the game for Polednik were receiving the bobblehead, enjoying a root beer and reflecting on her years as a baseball fan. She shared many memories, but one of her favorites was watching her dad play catcher for the Red Sox.
